Systems Administrator

Our client are a well known IT services provider & require a Systems Administrator to work out of the offices in the centre of Nottingham.
The role is to lead the implementation of improvements and changes to Customer IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for the configuration and support of client computer systems and infrastructure. Contributing to projects as detailed and outlined by the Project Manager or through CSIP requests. Acting as an escalation point in the absence of the Infrastructure Team Leader.
Individual Tasks

·Responsible for the configuration, systems administration and support of client computer systems

·To provide end of line resolution to escalated customer fault calls which include, but are not restricted to, operating system and hardware issues

·To own an escalation through to resolution, ensuring the client is aware of updates throughout the life of the open ticket

  • Responsible for delivering IT projects. Providing advice and guidance and completing any necessary documentation associated with the defined project. Attending the C-SIP meeting where appropriate to gauge project requirements

·To provide pre and post-sales support, pre installation auditing and post installation documentation

·Desktop/Server patching

·Triage, maintenance and reaction to alerts on a Netapp setup (Node 7) alongside 3rd party support

·Investigating changes to the system for annual pen testing events

·Raising CCR’s and implementing changes where necessary

·Fulfilling bespoke client requests, normally to maintain BAU

  • Ownership of infrastructure (maintenance, event management, remedial action and enhancements/changes)
  • Systems administration of all offices
  • To provide 3rd line user support when related to the infrastructure estate
  • To provide 3rd line exchange on line support
  • To provide technical guidance and support for the team and act as an escalation point when necessary
  • To provide assistance to the client contact with technical input for completion of tender documents
  • To generate reports to support client when providing explanations to Board
  • To provide cover in the absence of the Infrastructure Team Leader. Including on-site day to day point of contact for liaison with the client where related to team management

·Windows server 2012/2016

·MS Exchange / Exchange online

·Active Directory and GPO knowledge and configuration

·VMWare (administration and configuration)

·Veem (backup replication)

·Experience of storage solutions (HP hyper converged / Netapp)


·Firewall and Remote Solutions

·Networking knowledge of WAN/LAN and Wifi (Daily checks, switching (layer 2 Cisco switch)

Education, Qualification and Training

·Educated to A ‘level or equivalent standard with at least Maths and English grade c GCSE or above

·MCSE Productivity or Cloud platform and Infrastructure

·MCSA Windows Server 2012 or 2016, OR MCSA o365 or MCSA W10

·ITIL V3 foundation


Salary: From £42,000 to £47,000 per annum Excellent benefits package
