JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Business & Customer Support Trainee

Full time – 37.5 hours per week; Individual expected to work such additional hours as may be reasonably necessary for the satisfactory completion of any particular job. It may, on occasions, be necessary for duties to be undertaken outside the normal hours of work.

Probation period: 6 months

Location: Kenilworth based but willingness to travel on a day or overnight basis in UK

Job aims & context:

For Schools objective is to make a difference to children’s lives by improving the quality of their education. We provide a range of products and services to schools in the primary and secondary phases of education. These products are designed to support schools to develop and improve their provision and are supported by a range of services we offer to help them to assess their current delivery, to identify where improvements are needed and support them to make the necessary changes.

The job holder will learn to provide outstanding business and customer support. The individual will gain experience in a wide range of business skills, including customer support, business support, sales, commercial aspects and delivery, as well as developing their ability in the latest technologies, software configuration and development.

The job holder will:

This not a job for a clock watcher, this is a job for an individual with a passionate desire to develop their career and contribute to the success of For Schools.

First and foremost the job holder will demonstrate the right attitude and a willingness to learn and develop in their role. Necessary training and support will be provided.

Areas of involvement, development and then responsibility include:

Initially

·Customer support including telephone and email support following training in School sector, For Schools products and services and customer handling

·Customer relationship building and maintenance

·IT support and administration

·Team support – no job too small!

·Business support, sales and delivery – this activity ranges from the set up of products, packaging and sending them out to supporting the development of new (or existing) tools or reports in excel or online software;

With time

·Business development activities including customer relationship and potential customer development. Product development including project management, software development and process design

·Sales management and reporting, keeping track of leads and sales using internal systems, producing Management Information for Directors

·Reporting against company processes and procedures, including IT and business processes

·Quality assurance for all areas of the business

·Providing out of office support on training, recruitment and at conferences when required

·Administrating Email & Website systems

Skills

The job holder will:

·have the right attitude, be committed to the company and its customers with can do attitude and good inter-personal skills

·be a good communicator, who can demonstrate effective relationship skills, both on the telephone, in-person and in writing

·be a problem solver with good analysis skills and a willingness to find a solution to any challenge

·be literate – able to create and proof read marketing documents,

·be numerate – able to deal with relatively complex mathematical issues, such as pricing & spreadsheets

·be technology literate, highly competent and has the will to develop and use their skills further. Ideally familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel & Powerpoint and used to dealing with new software packages and keen to learn; willing to learn how to use things such as HTML, SQL and other supporting technologies

·enjoy working as part of a team and on own initiative as circumstances demand

·be keen to learn and advance in a growing small business

·be self motivated – self starter and independent worker who sees tasks through to completion

·have a full, current UK driving license
